Christmas Trees: A Death of a Thousand Cuts

All that rain is like having a drought.

Christmas Trees that have survived the last three years of drought have been faced with as great a challenge - water logging.

The Christmas Tree paddock has been under half a foot of water for nearly three months and it has taken its toll. Nutrients are locked up, roots drowned and rotting. Follow that up with a week of gale force winds, another few weeks of warm weather and the results are almost as disasterous as the drought.

Who said growing scabby old pines was easy ?
