a little daffy

Narcissus 'Tête à Tête'

it's high season for daffodils in the garden here

we have hundreds of them now

self bred from a small quantity 

planted five years ago

my favourite daffodils are the miniatures

they are pocket rockets of brightness

and slip happily into a pot to be placed

in prominent spots about the yard

"Jetfire" mini daffs

then quietly shoved behind a shrub

after flowering until the leaves

have had their fill of sunshine

nibbled

now the snails have gotten into these little "Jetfire" daffs

ironically, after scouring the wheelbarrow they live in,

i found them

it should have been obvious really !
