Visitors in the nursery (other than the escapee sheep) have included a small force of eastern barred bandicoots.
You can recognise the nose shaped holes they leave behind, as opposed to the scratchings of rabbits.
Yesterday I spotted a stripped backside skipping across the paddock from the nursery - so we know its the strippies not just the brown bandicoots visiting.

Bandicoots, if given the chance will breed as quickly as rabbits, but with a lot less damage left behind. We have a network of reserves across the farm that we are working towards linking up. A slow, costly and laborious pursuit but well worth the effort to house known endangered species !
