fleurs de la semaine

At The Atrium this week I have sent Janie in the ubiquitous daffodils - this time sprigged with wattle blossom and guitar plant foliage, dressed in a golden cotton fibre wrap.

Something new we are trying is a "Cup of Flower". A terrible play on words, I had thought of Espresso Blossom, Pick-me-up Posies, or Joe Buds and any number of other silly options. They are coffee cup sized posies, or Tussy Mussies with snowdrops, grape hyacinths, plum blossom, peach blossom, linden roses, arum leaves,  freesias, native mint, wattle buds, jonquils and dafffies. They are designed to be for "me", something as an early in the work week pick-me-up.

The rain has not helped flower growing. That 66mm of rain has pelted most of the blossoms in our garden, and water logged everything else. The wet and cold has stopped many flowers buds from blooming.

  1. Oh yeah I'd forgotten how awful it is for flowers when the weather gets nasty.
Your cup o' flowers are great! I could go one of those. Right now I'm having my wake-up cuppa.

  2. Oh, I wish I could do beautiful things with flowers instead of just plonking them in a vase, you are so talented.
